How I Measure Success
My greatest achievements are not measured by money, possessions, titles, or recognition. When I look back over my life, three blessings stand above all others:
My salvation, my spouse, and the privilege of fathering our three children.
These are the treasures that have given my life its deepest meaning.
1. My Greatest Achievement: Salvation
A. Coming to Know Jesus Christ
- Realizing my need for a Saviour.
- Receiving God’s grace and forgiveness.
- Placing my faith in Jesus Christ.
B. A Life Changed by Grace
- Learning that salvation is a gift, not something I could earn.
- Experiencing God’s mercy through failures and struggles.
- Growing in faith over the years.
C. My Eternal Hope
- Knowing that my sins are forgiven.
- Having the assurance that I belong to God.
- Looking forward to eternal life with Christ.
Of everything I have received in life, nothing compares with the gift of salvation.
Suggested Scripture:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.”
— Ephesians 2:8
2. One of My Greatest Blessings: My Spouse
A. Companion for Life’s Journey
- Sharing the joys and sorrows of life.
- Facing difficulties together.
- Growing older side by side.
B. Love Built Through the Years
- Learning patience and forgiveness.
- Supporting one another in difficult seasons.
- Sharing memories that no one else could fully understand.
C. A Gift from God
- Being thankful for companionship.
- Recognizing that marriage is more than romance; it is commitment.
- Appreciating the blessing of having someone with whom to share life.
Some of life’s greatest achievements are not things we accomplish alone, but the relationships we faithfully nurture.
Suggested Scripture:
“Two are better than one.”
— Ecclesiastes 4:9
3. The Privilege of Fathering Our Three Children
A. The Gift of Parenthood
- Welcoming three children into our family.
- Experiencing the joy and responsibility of being a father.
- Watching each child develop a unique personality.
B. Teaching and Guiding
- Trying to teach right from wrong.
- Passing on values, faith, and life lessons.
- Leading not only by words but by example.
C. Learning Through Fatherhood
- Discovering patience.
- Learning unconditional love.
- Realizing that parents also grow through their children.
D. Watching Them Grow
- Celebrating their achievements.
- Standing with them through disappointments.
- Continuing to love and pray for them as adults.
I may not have been a perfect father, but fathering our three children has been one of the greatest privileges and achievements of my life.
Suggested Scripture:
“Children are a heritage from the Lord.”
— Psalm 127:3
The Achievements That Matter Most
When life is measured by eternity, our greatest achievements may not be the things the world applauds.
My greatest achievement is receiving the salvation God freely offered me through Jesus Christ.
One of my greatest blessings is sharing life with my spouse.
And one of my greatest privileges is fathering our three children.
These are the treasures I value most.
When everything else fades, I believe these are the things that will still matter:
Faith. Love. Family.
And for these, I am deeply thankful to God.
